Foreword to simply mom
The day Pam Scholl called my bluff, I knew I could trust her. I was wavering with some emotional quandary, daring her to say something — anything — that could change my sad state of affairs. To my surprise, she did. Just a few simple, yet powerful, words, and the light switched on.
I like her for many reasons, but mostly, I like her for her words. Always carefully measured, always ripe with wisdom, her words are often the very thing I need to keep me sane, to make me laugh and to make me think about my choices, my direction and my purpose. And, most times, they heal me in some way, whether I know it or not. When she shares her words with me, I stop my frantic mind, and always, always listen. She offers no hidden meanings, no existential quandaries, just solid, easy-to-digest wisdom. The best part is, she speaks as a friend: honestly, softly, sometimes powerfully and always kindly.
She believes that if we trust ourselves enough, life will open in ways we never imagined. After reading her book, I believe it too.
